Yesterday was Ruth’s last day in work, she’s off on holiday this week, and then it’s maternity leave all the way. So it was the gathering of people on the six floor, usually reserved for when people actually leave for another job. Norman (Ruth’s boss) gave a small not too cringe-worthy speech and we got pressies (an ear thermometer, and a baby carrier). Then people gave us a polite round of applause, I do think people should think about what they are clapping before they start. It was all very strange.
