I’ve been meaning to post this for about three years – it’s my MA Dissertation. I’ve just reread (some of…) it, and I’m still rather proud, so I include it here in case you’re casually interested in either my academic leanings, out of interest in me, or because you have a secret yearning to analyse schoolgirl fiction in abnormal literary depth.
The dissertation looks at E M Brent-Dyer’s Chalet School, with reference to the cultural and societal norms and expectations of the time. My favourite bits actually talk about men in schoolgirl fiction, though that’s just part of it, really. Anyway, here’s the link:
